rachel pegrum - director

BSc Social Work. MSc Social Interventions. Registered Social Worker: SW59523

Rachel started her journey into the care sector working in residential care settings for older people and on inpatient mental health units as a health care assistant. After qualifying as a Social Worker, she worked in a Local Authority for 15 years assisting a wide cross section of society including older people and people living with physical disabilities, sensory loss or impairments, people with substance addiction and those struggling with both organic and functional mental health conditions. Following this Rachel worked for two years in the Department of Health and Social Care as a regional liaison, bringing the voice of the sector into policy making, and has spent some significant time working in charities as a social worker and as a safeguarding consultant.

Rachel founded Hamisha Ltd in 2023 with a vision to offer her wealth of experience and knowledge in the adult social care sector to those who may need assistance navigating complex statutory services, offering insight into the assessment processes under which services are provided,  and challenge appropriately, where necessary, to ensure social justice for all.
